Welcome To Discount Door in Grand Rapids
Discount Door is the family-owned and locally owned business you can trust to provide high-quality garage doors in Grand Rapids. While we are now a second-generation garage door supplier, the origins of Discount Door date all the way back to 1979. In early February of that year, Bob Lewis got a job installing commercial garage doors for McKee Door of Grand Rapids, continuing to work into the mid 1980s as a dedicated employee. However, a desire to run his own Michigan garage door business led Bob to start sub contracting commercial garage door installations for various local companies.
Saving every penny, looking forward to the day he would have enough to start up his own “real” Michigan garage door business, Bob and his wife, Deb, opened Discount Door in January of 1990. Providing many different garage doors in Grand Rapids, the company operated out of their house in Rockford, MI before moving to a larger space in Belmont, MI, and then finally our current building.
After retiring in 2016, Bob entrusted Discount Door to his son, Josh, and his wife, Abby, who are carrying on the family business of more than 30 years. Working under the values of hard work, trust, loyalty, and customer service, Discount Door provides new garage doors and garage door services. Our Michigan garage door company is a proud member of several local and national organizations, including the NFIB, the Home Builders Association of Western Michigan, and the International Door Association.
